New York Law School Home

Under our John Marshall Harlan Scholars program, we invite our most academically gifted students—the top 15% of the class—to accept the designation of Harlan Scholar. As Harlan Scholars students affiliate with one of our five research centers, enter an intellectually rich community, undertake a specially designed intensified course of study, and gain sophistication and insight from their faculty mentors. The five research centers include Center for International Law, Center for New York City Law, Center for Professional Values and Practice, Institute for Information Law and Policy, and the Justice Action Center—each lead by some of the most effective educators among the faculty.

The program creates a vibrant environment where faculty and scholars convene regularly in a variety of fora—class, law review symposia development, discussion groups and speaker series—to foster robust discourse and mentoring of inestimable value. All Harlan Scholars also serve on the Law Review.
