What is EZInfo?
EZInfo is a Web-based system that allows New York Law School students to:
- View final grades
- Print unofficial transcripts
- View account summaries
- View course schedules
- View exam numbers
How do I access EZInfo?
Open your web browser and go to http://nyls.edu/ezinfo. You can also find links to the system on the NYLS Internet and intranet home pages.
Initial Login Questions
What is my User ID and PIN?
Your User ID is your Social Security Number, or the number found on the front of your ID card. This number begins with the @ symbol and must be included in your user ID. All students who entered NYLS as of Summer 2005, including visitors and LL.M students must use their student ID instead of their SSN.
Your PIN is a 6-digit number, which will function like a password. Your initial PIN is your birth date in the form of MMDDYY. For example, a birth date of February 3, 1976 would be entered as 020376. If a date of birth was not submitted when you applied to the law school your default PIN is the last six numbers of your ID.
What is the " PIN has Expired" Message?
That is a good message!! This is the message you receive upon your very first successful log in. Now you must select a new PIN, a 6-digit number that is different from your birth date, but easy for you to remember. If you retype your birth date the computer will disable your account. This new PIN is the one you will use to access your information in the future.
What is the Login Verification Security Question and Answer?
If you ever forget your PIN, you can reset it yourself. After logging into Self Service you will be asked to enter your personal security question, along with the answer. This will enable you to reset your PIN without calling for assistance. To help you remember your answer, keep it short, limit spaces and do not use special characters. Your response is limited to 30 Characters.

How secure is my information?
EZInfo is a secure site that uses SSL encryption, which ensures that all data being transmitted between the browser and the web site is encrypted.
What is an SSL certificate and what do I do with it?
All leading web browsers are already enabled for SSL but some older browser versions may display a certificate that tells you that the site you are about to enter uses encryption. The certificate tells you its origin and asks if you wish to accept it. You should accept the certificate in order to securely connect to the website. Say yes to all defaults that the SSL certificate prompts.
How do I exit EZInfo?
Click the EXIT button in the upper right corner of the screen and then be sure to close your browser.
What happens if I do not logout of EZInfo?
You Must Logout in order to keep your information secure!!! If you exit but do not close the browser, someone else may be able to hit the back button on the browser and view your confidential information.
PIN, Security Question and general access Issues
What do I do if I forget my PIN?
Enter your User Id and click on the "Forget PIN?" button. You will be asked the security question you entered the first time you logged into the system. A successful answer will enable you to reset your PIN and gain access to your information. If you forget the answer to your security question you must contact the Registrar's office at 212-431-2300. The answer to your security question will be emailed to your NYLS email address, which will allow you to reset your PIN.
How do I change my PIN?
After a successful login, choose "Personal Information" from the Main Menu. Next, choose "Change Your PIN" from the menu on the Personal Information page. On this page you may change or reset your PIN.
How do I change my Security Question?
After a successful login, choose "Personal Information" from the Main Menu. Next, choose "Change Security Question" from the menu on the Personal Information page. On this page you may enter a new security question.
I tried to login several times but I kept getting it wrong. Now that I have it right, it won't let me in. Why?
After five (5) consecutive log on failures, EZInfo disables your PIN to protect your data. You must then have your PIN reset by contacting the Registrar's Office at 212-431-2300.
After logging into EZInfo I did something else for a while. Now I have been logged off the system. What happened?
After ten (10) minutes of inactivity EZInfo automatically logs you off. This is to prevent others from accessing your account. Simply return to the homepage and log back in.
Viewing Class Schedules, Grades, Exam Numbers, and Accounts and printing Transcripts
How do I view my class schedule?
After a successful login, choose "Student Services" on the Main Menu page. Next, choose "Registration" on the Student Services page. When you reach the Registration page, first choose "select term" and pick the term for which you wish to view your schedule. You must highlight your term choice and then click "submit." This brings you back to the Registration page. Next, choose "student schedule" for your class schedule, or "student detail schedule" if you wish to view your class and final exam schedule.
How do I view my final grades?
After a successful login, choose "Student Services" on the Main Menu page. Next, choose "Student Records" on the Student Services page. On the Student Records page, choose "Final Grades." This prompts you to choose a term. You must highlight your selection and then click the "submit" button. Your grades for the chosen semester should now display. You can click the "Select Another Term" button at the bottom of the screen to choose a different semester.
How do I view my exam number?
After a successful login, choose "Student Services" on the Main Menu page. Next, choose "Student Records" on the Student Services page. On the Student Records page, choose "View Exam Number." If you have a "Hold," you will not see your exam number and must contact the Accounting Office at 212-431-2323. If you do not have a "Hold" but also do not see your exam number, please contact the Registrar's Office at 212-431-2300.
How do I view and print my unofficial transcript?
After a successful login, choose "Student Services" on the Main Menu page. Next, choose "Student Records" on the Student Services page. On the Student Records page, choose "View Academic Transcript." On the Display Transcript page, you must choose a transcript level. Always choose and highlight "Professional." Next, you must choose and highlight "unofficial" as the transcript type. Then click the "submit" button. Your transcript should now display and you can print it directly from your browser. Your transcript will not display if you have a "transcript hold."
How do I know if I have any "Holds"?
After a successful login, choose "Student Services" on the Main Menu page. Next, choose "Student Records" on the Student Services page. On the Student Records page, choose "View Holds." If you have a "Hold," it will display or you will see the message "No holds exist on your record."
How do I view my account summary?
After a successful login, choose "Student Services" on the Main Menu page. Next, choose "Student Records" on the Student Services page. On the Student Records page, choose "Account Summary" and your account activity should display in summarized form. Choose "View Account Summary by Term " if you wish to view your account activity in a more detailed form by term.
How do I find my general student information, such as my expected graduation date?
After a successful login, choose "Student Services" on the Main Menu page. Next, choose "Student Records" on the Student Services page. On the Student Records page, choose "View Student Information." Your expected graduation date and other general student information should now display.
Addresses/Phone numbers, Emergency Contacts and Name and SSN Change Information
How do I check to see if my current address and phone number are in the system?
After a successful login, choose "Personal Information" on the Main Menu page. Select "View Addresses and Phones" and your current information will display. If you need to change this information, please fill out a "Change of Address" form (available outside the Registrar's Office) and return it to the Registrar's Office. Shortly, you will be able to change your address and phone through the EZInfo system.
How can I see my emergency contacts?
After a successful login, choose "Personal Information" on the Main Menu page. Select "View Emergency Contacts" and your current information will display. If you need to change this information, please contact the Registrar's Office at 212-431-2300.
How do I change my name?
After a successful login, choose "Personal Information" on the Main Menu page. Select "Name Change Information" and you will see instructions outlining the steps needed to change your name officially for purposes of your NYLS records.
How do I change my Social Security Number?
After a successful login, choose "Personal Information" on the Main Menu page. Select "Social Security Number Change Information" and you will see instructions for changing your social security number for purposes of your NYLS records. You will also see a link directly to the US Social Security Administration's online system. You can submit an application to change your social security number directly to the SSA through this link.
