Delivery of course: instructor-led


This is the basic class on how to conduct performance evaluations.  This two-hour session will include use of our existing performance evaluation form.  This class is for those who are currently responsible for completing employee performance appraisals.  We will cover:

  •  How to use the tool to write up this year's evaluation
  •  Steps to prepare before you write your first sentence
  •  Job descriptions and their link to the performance evaluation process
  •  Looking back but it's also a time to look forward; performance goals and expectations
  •  How to prepare for the evaluation meeting
  •  Communication and follow up tools and techniques

Within these topics we'll cover:

  • How to relay negative information
  • The common subjective factors such as, "The Halo Effect," "Recent Effect," "Central Tendency"
  • Job description versus the job expectations
  • Effective phrases for performance appraisals
  • Performance evaluation - a compliance issue
  • Introduction to the coaching process

Two-hour class:  Room, date and time to be announced
