Lesson: Training Effectiveness through Continuous Coaching
The learner will:
- recognize the benefits of training employees by using continuous coaching methods
- sequence the steps in training staff members new skills
- match the four coaching styles for training effectiveness to their characteristics
- when presented with a realistic scenario, apply effective questioning techniques for drawing a person out
- identify the goal for counseling
Lesson: Counseling Techniques for Performance Improvement
The learner will:
- recognize the benefits of employment appropriate counseling techniques for performance improvement
- analyze a given scenario to determine whether the SMART goal model was appropriately implemented
- differentiate between effective and ineffective ways to offer encouragement to an employee
- apply guidelines to effectively redirect an employee's performance when presented with a realistic situation
Lesson: Working with Employee Resistance
The learner will:
- recognize the critical importance of overcoming employee resistance
- apply effective techniques to gain cooperation from an uncooperative person when presented with a realistic scenario
- apply effective interventions to coach team members who are in conflict, given a scenario
- identify action that should be taken prior to initiating formal disciplinary action
Lesson: Introducting a New Management Style
The learner will:
- recognize the critical importance of preparing and guiding your staff through changes in management styles
- identify factors to consider when preparing for change
- identify communication strategies for executing a new management style
- identify methods to facilitate transition to a new management style
- apply effective methods for gaining acceptance of a new management style to a realistic situation
