Lesson:
  Counseling

The learner will:

  • recognize the benefit of counseling workers to improve performance
  • apply techniques to effectively inform a worker of problem performance in a given scenario
  • use techniques to develop an effective performance improvement plan in a given scenario
  • identify the reasons to use an employee assistance program

Lesson:  Supporting Improvement

The learner will:

  • recognize the benefiting of supporting improvement in workplace performance
  • apply training techniques to improve problem performance in a given scenario
  • use coaching methods to improve problem performance in a given scenario
  • improve performance using management and supervision techniques in a given scenario

Lesson:  Changing the Work Situation

The learner will:

  • recognize the benefits of changing the work situation as a means of improving problem performance
  • change the design of the task to improve performance in a given scenario
  • improve individual performance by managing team characteristics in a given scenario
  • apply appropriate management practices to improve performance in a given scenario
