Delivery of course: instructor-led

The Insight Inventory is a self-scoring self-assessment that provides information on four personality traits.  It measures styles of:  Getting Your Way (Direct or Indirect), Responding to People (Outgoing or Reserved), Pacing Activity (Urgent or Steady), and Dealing with Details (Unstructured or Precise).

By the end of this two-hour workshop the participant will:

  •  Become familiar with his or her style of communicating

  • Graph the level of intensity based on the results of the assessment in areas such as Getting Your Way, Responding to People, Pacing Activity, Dealing with Details

  • Come up with class totals to see how aligned participants are with each other and discuss if this is or should be consistent with management within our law school

  • Discuss potential ways to respond to situations based on the specific trait and the score.  We will also cover strengths associated with those traits

  • Take the traits that resulted from the assessment and identify types of situations that increase stress and the potential reactions to situations based on that stress

  • Learn what to do to "flex" his or her style in order to communicate better with those with opposite styles

  • Learn what do do to "flex" his or her style in order to communicate better with those with similar styles

In addition, we will end by reviewing a sample organization chart and see how the styles can be applied to the chart to determine the overall style of communicating within a specific department.
