EMPLOYEE PROGRAMS

New York Law School offers an Employee Assistance Program (EAP).  The program was rolled-out in September 2006 and is available to all employees (Administrative Staff and Faculty).   Employees were informed of the program via on site information sessions.  Brochures providing program description and contact information are available at the Employee Display sections located in the main building and in Human Resources and information is available on the Human Resources website.

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides information, assessment, crisis intervention, short- term counseling, and referral for a range of problems that may include family matters, financial concerns,  child and eldercare or personal growth transition.

The EAP is confidential and is provided by an independent organization located outside of the law school.

To provide this benefit, New York Law School has retained the services of the Employee Development Center            (EDC), a division of the Cornell University Medical College, with nearly twenty years of experience in anticipating and meeting the needs of working people.  Employees must contact them directly by calling (212) 935-3030; outside of New York City, (800) 327-9092 to make an appointment with a professional.  They are located at 136 East 57th Street, 4th floor.  The director of the Center is Jeffrey Emil Diaz, who has over 25 years of experience in the EAP field.

There is no cost to the employee or the employee's immediate family (which can include siblings, spouse, partner, parents) for services received at the EAP.  However, if EDC refers the individual toan outside resource for further consultation, the outside organization will charge for services rendered (which may/may not be covered by health insurance plans).
