Profile
Professor Collins joined the faculty of Indiana University School of Law in 2004, bringing a diverse range of academic and professional experience to his scholarship and teaching. Professor Collins focuses much of his research in patent law and intellectual property law, and he teaches courses in both subjects at the Law School.
Professor Collins is also interested in the intersection of law and architecture. Before earning his JD from Stanford University, he earned a master's degree in architecture from Columbia University and spent several years as an architect and lead designer on projects in New York and France. A registered architect in the state of New York, he has taught a seminar in 20th-century architectural history at Yale and studio design courses at Columbia's Graduate School of Architecture Planning and Preservation. At the Law School, he teaches the Law and Architecture of Urban Design.
