Dr. Kjartan Pierre Emilsson is the lead designer at computer game company CCP Games, best known for its successful massively multiplayer title EVE: The Second Genesis.

Before joining CCP in 2001, Dr. Emilsson was Chief Technology Officer at OZ Communications since 1995. At OZ he was responsible for research and development, patent filing, standards and strategic technology advances.

Prior to joining OZ, Emilsson worked in physics research and Internet communication technology at the Institut Non-Lineaire De Nice-Sophia Antipolis, the Advanced Center for Mathematical Studies at the University of Arizona and the Science and Engineering Institute of the University of Iceland.

Frequently invited to speak at international industry events, Dr. Emilsson has published a number of research papers in physics and computer science, and holds a Ph.D. degree in Mathematical Physics from the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis.
