To arrange a loan, please contact interlibraryloan@nyls.edu between 10 and 5 pm. Requests must come from library staff, not from attorneys or paralegals. We cannot accommodate interlibrary loan requests from institutions that do not maintain a library staff. We require that the borrowing institution submit a standard ALA Interlibrary Loan Request Form for each item borrowed.
Transactions with local law firms are usually handled by a messenger, which must be arranged for by the borrowing institution. After getting a visitor’s pass from the New York Law School Security at 47 Worth Street, messengers may come to the library, which is located at 40 Worth Street, on the 4th floor. Materials ready for pick-up are kept on the Hold Shelf at the Circulation Desk. Pickup hours are 9 am to 6 pm on weekdays.
The borrowing library should not send its messenger until NYLS Library has verified that the requested material is available and has been processed for loan. The messenger must bring a completed ALA form, or the loan will not be allowed. Please return the borrowed material to the same location within the designated loan period.
