System Requirements for the Online Program

The Mental Disability Law Online Program is conducted on the Blackboard Learning System, Version 7.3.  Blackboard is a richly-featured learning management system, and its many tools require that users meet certain system requirements.

Hardware Requirements

Windows

• 200Mhz+ processor
• 800x600 monitor (1024x768 recommended)
• 56k modem (High Speed Internet, DSL or Cable, recommended)
• 512MB RAM or greater

Macintosh

• G4+
• 800x600 monitor (1024x768 recommended)
• 56k modem (High Speed Internet (DSL or Cable) recommended)
• 512MB RAM or greater

Software Requirements

The following combinations of browsers and operating systems are "certified and fully supported" by Blackboard:

• Windows XP & Internet Explorer 6

• 10.4 & Firefox 1.5

Browser Plugins

• JAVA
  • PC: Java 1.5; Java 1.6 (recommended if problems with version 1.5)
  • Mac: Java 1.5 (Mac OS 10.4, Tiger) or higher (Mac OS 10.5, Leopard)
• QuickTime for Mac
  • Flip4Mac MWV QuickTime Plugin - allows Windows Media streaming videos playback on the Macintosh Operating Ssystem
• Windows Media Player
