Jacob Loshin

Jacob Loshin is a law clerk to Judge Jerry E. Smith of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He received a J.D. from Yale Law School in 2007, where he was a Senior Editor of the Yale Law Journal and Editor-in-Chief of the Yale Journal on Regulation. Mr. Loshin received a B.A. in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from Claremont McKenna College in 2003. From 1993 to 1999, he performed regularly as a magician in the Pacific Northwest area.  His work on magic and intellectual property has been discussed in publications including The Economist, The Boston Globe, The Financial Times, Slate, and Reason Magazine. His scholarship on property, contract, and criminal law has appeared in various law journals, and his work on magic will appear in a forthcoming book to be published by Carolina Academic Press.
