Profile
Farnaz Alemi is an associate in the Los Angles office of Latham & Watkins and is a member of the Intellectual Property, Media and Technology and Technology Transactions Practice Groups. Since joining the firm in 2007, she has focused on corporate transactions related to intellectual property, media, entertainment and technology.
Ms. Alemi is the author of "An Avatar's Day in Court: A Proposal for Obtaining Relief and Resolving Disputes in Virtual World Games," which was published in the Fall 2007 issue of the UCLA Journal of Law and Technology. The article is being re-printed in the upcoming November 2008 issue of the Icfai Journal of CyberLaw, as well as in a proposed book on "Internet Frauds and Regulatory Measures." Both publications are owned by the Icfai University Press, which is based in India. Ms. Alemi co-authored a feature article in the May 2008 Entertainment Issue of Los Angeles Lawyer magazine titled "Clean Games," which examines the legal issues surrounding the video game industry. She is also actively involved with the American Bar Association's Special Committee on Computer Gaming and Virtual Worlds.
Ms. Alemi recently spoke at Northwestern University School of Law on the topic of virtual laws in virtual worlds. |
