Profile
Mr. Nicolakis concentrates his practice in all areas of intellectual property. He has particular experience in patent prosecution and litigation. Prior to joining Dreier LLP, Mr. Nicolakis was an associate at an intellectual property boutique in Manhattan. Before law school, Mr. Nicolakis developed software for IBM and for Sapient, Inc., a consulting firm in Massachusetts. During law school, Mr. Nicolakis was a student fellow at the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard Law School where he worked on the Digital Media Project. At the Institute for Information Law and Policy, Mr. Nicolakis coordinated the State of Play Conference, the leading academic conference on virtual worlds and the law, as well as the initial research efforts which led to the Peer-to-Patent program, now a pilot at the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Mr. Nicolakis received a B.S., in Computer Science from Northeastern University in 2002. He received a J.D. from New York Law School in 2006. Mr. Nicolakis served on the Executive Board for the New York Law School Media Law & Policy Journal, and as President of the Intellectual Property Society. He was the first student awarded a Certificate of Mastery in Law Practice Technology from New York Law School.
