Welcome to the August 2012 edition of the Academic Success Program. This program is intended to provide you with a quick introduction to law study that will help you cope better with the beginning of law school.

On this page is the accompanying syllabus, together with the first reading assignment for Monday morning’s class, which will begin at 9:30 a.m. The room assignment will be posted at the entrances to the law school when you arrive that morning at 185 West Broadway, and a written schedule of the classes will be provided at that first class. There will be five large classroom sessions, morning and afternoon on Monday and Tuesday, and one last session on Wednesday morning. There will be preparation and discussion meetings after each of the formal classes. On Wednesday afternoon you will take a practice exam on the material that we have covered, which will be returned to you with feedback and discussion at our final session on Thursday evening.

Hard copies of the Syllabus and bound copies of the course book will be available for you at the law school.

We look forward to meeting you and working with you in the ASP. We are excited that you and many of your classmates have enrolled in this course, which will provide you with an opportunity to begin getting to know one another while learning what to expect in your legal education.

Welcome to New York Law School!
