All admitted students are invited to participate in the Summer Advantage Institute and the Academic Success Program. There is no charge or academic credit for participating in these programs.
Summer Advantage Institute
The Summer Advantage Institute (SAI) is a condensed introductory course in legal method offered during the summer before the first year. The program demystifies law school by exposing participants to the full cycle of a law school course—from first assignment through final examination—in a short period of time. The program is offered in two forms: a multi-week extended version and a one-week intensive version.
First-Year Academic Success Program
The First-Year Academic Success Program (ASP) is a voluntary program that offers participants weekly skills sessions with Teaching Fellows. Teaching Fellows are high-achieving upper-level students. Each Teaching Fellow is assigned a small cohort of students from the Day Division or the Evening Division. In addition to teaching students learning skills, Teaching Fellows mentor their cohort of students and help them manage the demands of law school.
