Check-In

10:30 a.m. • Front Lobby, 185 West Broadway

Pick up your Alumni Celebration schedule and materials, find out who’s attending the festivities, and explore campus. Log on to free Wi-Fi anywhere on campus. The Alumni Lounge on the second floor, outside of the Events Center, and The Mendik Library offer comfortable “co-working” spaces for checking in with the office.

Special Event: Dedication of the Jay S. Watnick ’59 Reading Room and Legal Research Center

11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. • The Mendik Library, First Floor

Join Dean Anthony W. Crowell, Board Chair Arthur Abbey ’59, and the Watnick family to celebrate the Jay S. Watnick ’59 Reading Room and Legal Research Center in honor of beloved alumnus Jay S. Watnick and the Marianna and Jay S. Watnick ’59 Scholarship Fund. A champagne toast and light refreshments will be served.

Lunch and Conversation With Dean Anthony W. Crowell

Enjoy lunch with Dean Anthony W. Crowell and hear about the Law School’s forthcoming five-year Strategic Plan. Dean Crowell will discuss how NYLS is staying ahead of a changing legal and business environment to prepare our students for academic, bar and professional success, support our alumni throughout their careers, and create partnerships in the legal, business and public interest communities. This program includes a Q&A with the Dean.

Leading With Purpose in Times of Change

Legal, business and public service organizations today face complex challenges and a host of new opportunities—from attracting and retaining talent, to leveraging technology and adopting new business models—and so do the individuals who lead them. Join Katrina Dewey, the founder of Lawdragon, a preeminent guide to the nation’s leading lawyers, and NYLS alumni in a discussion about managing organizations in a time of change, developing the skills to lead, and advancing your practice and your career.

U.S. Supreme Court Year in Review and Year Ahead

A panel of Supreme Court and constitutional law experts will examine the notable rulings of the Court’s current term and preview the issues the Court may decide in its next term. Join us as we assess the impact of a new Justice and a changing, and at times turbulent, political landscape on the Court and constitutional law.

Alumni Association Annual Meeting and Appointment of Officers and Directors

6:00 p.m.–6:30 p.m. • Room W220

Join the Alumni Association to vote for the appointment of new and continuing officers and directors who will serve our community as NYLS leaders and champions in the coming year. All alumni are members of the Alumni Association and are invited to get involved in connecting with students, engaging alumni, and advancing the School.

Reconnect with classmates, make new connections, and enjoy an evening of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and Tribeca views.

After-Party Hosted by the NYLS Alumni Association

8:30 p.m. • Manhattan Proper (6 Murray Street in Tribeca)

Close out the celebration with off-campus fun and networking. The event is hosted by NYLS’s Alumni Association.
