Luis Moreno Ocampo will talk about his new book War and Justice in the 21st Century: A Case Study on the International Criminal Court and Its Interaction with the War on Terror (Oxford University Press, 2022) in which he presents a personal description of his practice as the first Chief Prosecutor of the ICC. He was the key decision-maker in triggering the Court’s intervention in sovereign states and a witness of the relationship between international justice and the War on Terror. Previously, Moreno Ocampo was the deputy prosecutor in the Trial of the Juntas against three of Argentina’s dictators and six top commanders which is depicted in Argentina, 1985—a movie nominated for Best International Feature Film at the 95th Academy Awards.
