Join us for a discussion of how COVID-19 has impacted family law, featuring practitioners and scholars from across the country who are contributing to upcoming Family Law Quarterly issues on this topic. The Family Law Quarterly is a scholarly journal produced by the Family Law Section of the American Bar Association in collaboration with NYLS.

Panel 1: Virtual Hearings, Family Court Proceedings, and the Future (1:00–2:35 p.m.)

This panel will consider the impact of court closures and the use of virtual court proceedings in the context of family law for both domestic and international cases.

Panel 2: Addressing System Gaps: Representing Clients and Accessing Services (3:00–4:35 p.m.)

This panel will consider how COVID-19 has impacted systems for providing interventions, supports, or oversight in the area of family law, as well as some best practices for client representation and advocacy.
