Hosted by the Impact Center for Public Interest Law, Impact Conversations is a speaker series that highlights how current events impact civil rights and civil liberties.

The Impact Center for Public Interest Law invites you to a discussion on issues impacting incarcerated transgender people, including conditions of incarceration, access to gender-affirming healthcare, and violence and harassment based on gender identity or gender expression. Professor Arthur Leonard will lead this discussion joined by Dee Farmer, plaintiff in the precedent-setting U.S. Supreme Court case Farmer v. Brennan, and Shannon Minter, Legal Director of the National Center for Lesbian Rights—one of the nation’s leading advocacy organizations for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people.

This event is open to all NYLS students, alumni, faculty, and staff.
