Asim Rehman, Commissioner and Chief Administrative Law Judge, New York City Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings

Law Day is held on May 1 every year to celebrate the role of law in our society and to cultivate a deeper understanding of the legal profession. With the 2023 theme—“Cornerstones of Democracy: Civics, Civility, and Collaboration”—NYLS invites the City and State legal community to join together for a program in rebuilding trust in the nation’s institutions, respect for one another, and our willingness to collaborate to address the challenges that face our country.

Join NYLS’s special Law Day Program, featuring Asim Rehman, Commissioner and Chief Administrative Law Judge of the New York City Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings (OATH). In conversation with NYLS Dean and President Anthony Crowell, Chief ALJ/Commissioner Rehman will connect this year’s theme as it applies to his work in city service, and how it shapes the vision for OATH and access to justice in the administrative judiciary.
