Event Details

Starting in 2016, startups and other companies began using a fundraising tool called initial coin offerings (ICOs) where they would sell cryptocurrencies or other virtual tokens to buyers who held them as investments or would use them in digital marketplaces of the future. Which regulations oversee ICOs and token issuers? Have government agencies issued any guidance on ICOs and token issuances or carried out any enforcement actions? Is the legal landscape still evolving for ICOs and other token issuances?

Charles Gelinas, a Partner at Dentons who is the U.S. lead for the firm’s Distributed Ledger Technology group, will discuss these and other questions.
