Event Details

Join the Mentors in the Law for First Generation Students, Summer Digital Edition, hosted by the University of San Diego School of Law via Zoom. The collaborative program includes admissions representatives New York Law School, University of San Diego School of Law, Georgia State University College of Law, University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, and attorneys from Snell & Wilmer.

For students who are the first in their family to attend a four-year undergraduate institution, this online event presents an opportunity to learn about the factors that contribute to a compelling law school application and hear first-hand the challenges and rewards that accompany the First Gen path to law experience. The program consists of a law school admissions discussion, diversity statement overview, and First Gen attorney panel. It concludes with a digital meet-and-greet/networking session with law students, attorneys, and admissions representatives. Note, the final schedule with specific session start times will be released one week prior to Mentors in the Law.

First Gen college student status is not a prerequisite for participation; this is an inclusive event for all future jurists. The topics and issues explored will contribute to every prospective law student’s understanding of the admissions process and the skills and mindsets relevant to success within the legal profession.
