PUNCH, a new Broadway show, tells the extraordinary true story of how a single punch in Nottingham, England, led to a tragic death and a remarkable transformation. Years after Jacob’s punch caused the death of their son James, Joan and David—seeking answers that could help them heal—chose to meet with Jacob, beginning an unexpected and profound restorative justice journey.

The play demonstrates how restorative justice meetings between Jacob and James’ parents transformed their lives in unexpected ways. Now, the real Joan and David are visiting NYC to see PUNCH, and they’re making a special stop at NYLS.

Join us for this rare opportunity to hear directly from Joan Scourfield, David Hodgkinson, and Nicola Fowler, their restorative justice facilitator, about why they needed this meeting and how it changed them—and Jacob—forever. Professor Susan Abraham will moderate this intimate discussion about the profound impact of restorative justice on their lives. Audience questions will be welcomed. Light refreshments will be provided.
