Dean Crowell will host a special briefing on Zoom to discuss the Supreme Court’s recent decision in New York State Rifle and Pistol Association v. Bruen, and what to expect in the months ahead as governments, advocates, and communities adapt to this new legal landscape, as well as how lawyers and future lawyers can best contribute to making our communities safer. Panelists for the discussion will include Professor William Rosen, Everytown’s Managing Director of State Policy and Government Affairs, and instructor for NYLS’s Gun Legislative Advocacy Clinic; Professor Kirk Burkhalter, Director of the 21st Century Policing Project (P21) and a retired NYPD Detective, First Grade; and Bill Taylor, Everytown’s Deputy Director, Second Amendment Litigation.

Read a recent Gothamist/WNYC article featuring Professor Burkhalter on the implications for New York and Everytown’s statement on the Court’s ruling.
