Event Details

The Impact Center invites you to a discussion with Colorado Law Professor Aya Gruber and New York Law School Professor Justin Murray. In her book, The Feminist War on Crime, Gruber argues that American feminists––in their quest to secure women’s protection from domestic violence and rape––became soldiers in the war on crime. They did so by emphasizing white female victimhood, expanding the power of police and prosecutors, touting the problem-solving power of incarceration, and diverting resources toward law enforcement as well as away from marginalized communities. However, today’s feminism can be different.
