New York Law School celebrates World Mental Health Day—a day for global mental health education, awareness, and advocacy.

The Office of Student Life and the Student Bar Association (SBA) will provide an array of healthy snacks for you to enjoy on your way to your morning class! In addition to picking up a treat, be sure to take information pamphlets on the many mental health resources available to all NYLS students.

In the spirit of World Mental Health Day, the SBA has partnered with Swati Parikh, Executive Director of Public Service and Pro Bono Initiatives, to host a meditation session directed at helping the NYLS community unwind and de-stress.

To raise awareness about World Mental Health Day, NYLS student organizations present To Hell and Back: One Lawyer’s Path to Recovery, a YouTube live presentation, featuring Laurie Besden.
Laurie will candidly share her story of addiction, and ultimately, redemption.

The Office of Student Life and the SBA will provide an array of healthy snacks and information before your evening class!
Student Lounge, located outside of the SBA Office Members of the NYLS community are invited to participate in the SBA’s “Positive Words” campaign. The SBA welcomes students, faculty, and staff to write a positive, uplifting message on a sticky note, for the community to see. The NYLS community is encouraged to share the ways in which they practice wellness and uphold good mental health. Be sure to stop by and participate in the campaign!
