Emerson S. Moore II, Paul L. Porretta, and Hon. Marc J. Whiten Elected to the Board of Trustees of New York Law School

Judge Whiten to Serve as Alumni Association President

New York, NY (July 6, 2015)—Emerson S. Moore II ’99, Paul L. Porretta ’95, and Hon. Marc J. Whiten ’84 have been elected to the Board of Trustees of New York Law School (NYLS), announced Dean and President Anthony W. Crowell.  In addition, Judge Whiten ’84 has been elected as President of the Alumni Association.

Emerson S. Moore II is General Counsel and Senior Vice President at TMP Worldwide Advertising & Communications, LLC, a talent acquisition and recruitment advertising company. He is responsible for all legal matters pertaining to the day-to-day operations of the company, as well as those of its global subsidiaries. Moore joined TMP in 2007.  He previously worked in the Corporate Department at Proskauer Rose LLP.

Paul L. Porretta is a Partner in Morrison Cohen LLP’s Employment, Compensation & Benefits Department. His practice focuses on a wide range of services related to 401(k), pension, and Employee Stock Ownership Plans.  Porretta joined Morrison Cohen in 2006.  Previously, he practiced at Thelen LLP and was an Assistant General Counsel at MetLife. He is the outgoing President of NYLS’s Alumni Association, and he previously served as the Alumni Association’s Representative to the Board.

Hon. Marc J. Whiten, appointed in 2007 by Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, serves as Acting Supreme Court Justice and Deputy Supervising Justice of the New York City Criminal Court, Bronx County.  Previously, he served as an Assistant District Attorney and Supervisor of the Narcotics Bureau in the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office, an Associate at Bower & Gardner, and a Partner at Armienti DeBellis & Whiten LLP.  He was elected to the Board of Trustees as the Alumni Association’s Representative to the Board.
