National Labor and Employment Law Moot Court Competition

Friday, February 27, to Sunday, March 1, 2026

Each spring, the New York Law School Moot Court Association administers the Robert F. Wagner National Labor and Employment Law Moot Court Competition. This year’s competition marks the 50th anniversary of this prestigious event! Forty schools from across the country will compete.

The Wagner Competition is one of the nation’s largest student-run moot court competitions and the premier national competition dedicated exclusively to labor and employment law. The Moot Court Association sponsors this competition in honor of the late United States Senator, Robert F. Wagner, our distinguished alumnus.

The 50th Annual Robert F. Wagner National Labor and Employment Law Moot Court Competition will be held in person on Friday, February 27, 2026, through Sunday, March 1, 2026.

Registration is now open. Schools may register up to one (1) team. Registration will end on Monday, November 10, 2025, or once we have reached a total of forty (40) teams registered to compete. If 40 teams have not registered by Monday, November 10, 2025, registration of a second team from schools already registered will be allowed.

The nonrefundable registration fee for this year's competition is $1050 per team. Credit cards will be the only acceptable form of payment. This fee includes two tickets to the Wagner Ball, hosted on Saturday, February 28, 2026. Additional tickets for alternate competitors, coaches, and other guests are available for $125 each and are payable at the time of registration.

The fact pattern and rules will be released on Friday, November 21, 2025. Briefs are due on Monday, January 12, 2026.
