Campus Hate Crime Statistics
The New York State Education law requires higher education institutions receiving state aid to make available on their website information about hate and bias crimes that have taken place on or around campus. “Hate crimes” are defined in New York Penal Law, § 485.05. As noted in the New York Law School Annual Safety Report, which also compiles information about different crimes occurring on or near campus, including hate crimes, the incidence of hate crimes for the last three complete reporting periods is as follows:
