TIME: 12:50 p.m.–1:50 p.m. ET

LOCATION: Fifth Floor Cafeteria

Do you have repair issues in your apartment that you’ve reported to your landlord, but to no avail? Are you unsure whether your rent is higher than legally allowed? Housing Rights Clinic students will be hosting an event highlighting the benefits of tenant organizing and sharing information on how to organize your building and exercise all of your tenant rights. Members of the Clinic and Right to Counsel NYC (RTCNYC) Coalition tenant organizers will be stationed at different booths where students can learn how tenant organizing works, why it’s important, and why they should consider going into tenants’ rights work.

Come speak with tenant organizers Adalky Capellán and Khadija Hussain from the RTCNYC Coalition. The RTCNYC Coalition led the campaign to make it a right for tenants to have a lawyer when facing eviction in NYC and has inspired a Right to Counsel movement across the country.
