Profile
Anna Belle Hoots is the Associate Director of Bar Success at New York Law School, where she teaches Introduction to the MEE and Introduction to the MBE—two Core Curriculum courses designed to equip students with the substantive knowledge and practical skills needed to excel on the Uniform Bar Exam.
Professor Hoots has built a career at the intersection of education and law, championing the transformative power of access and advocacy. She began her legal journey as a special education attorney at Spencer Walsh Law, PLLC, advocating for the rights of students with disabilities. Later, as legal counsel for a high-performing charter school network in New York City, she provided strategic guidance on complex legal and educational matters while leading initiatives to support the organization’s expansion.
In addition to her role at New York Law School, Professor Hoots teaches bar preparation courses and workshops on a range of topics, including essay writing, multiple-choice strategies, and test-taking techniques, helping law students and graduates prepare for the Uniform Bar Exam.
While earning her J.D. at Fordham University School of Law, Professor Hoots served as a legal writing teaching assistant over several semesters, including for distinguished Judge Denny Chin of the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, and as an Articles and Notes Editor for the Fordham Law Review.
With a career rooted in advocacy, mentorship, and legal education, Professor Hoots remains dedicated to helping students thrive both in law school and beyond.
