Profile

Errol B. Taylor ’87 began teaching patent law at New York Law School in 2020. He is a preeminent intellectual property attorney and strategic advisor with decades of expertise in complex technology protection, licensing, and other transactions. He has specialized knowledge in biopharmaceutical intellectual property (IP) issues and was the leader of Milbank LLP's biopharma patent practice from 2003 through 2020. Professor Taylor served as lead trial counsel in numerous multiparty, multinational cases involving some of the world’s most prescribed medicines. He has been a trusted counselor to technology companies regarding intellectual property protection and patent litigation.

He has been recognized as one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical attorneys by numerous publications and journals, including Chambers USA, Managing IP, Benchmark Litigation, PLC Which Lawyers, Super Lawyers, and IAM Magazine which selected him as one of the 250 top IP lawyers in the world. He was named by Lawdragon in 2018 as one of the 500 Leading Lawyers in America. In 2003, he was chosen by The National Law Journal as one of the nation's top trial lawyers.

Professor Taylor has received numerous awards and honors for his career and charitable accomplishments. He is a member of NYLS’s Board of Trustees.
