Artificial intelligence is increasingly present in dispute resolution, from case management and document review to party submissions and evidentiary analysis. This program provides a clear, non-technical introduction for arbitrators and mediators, focusing on ethical responsibilities, procedural fairness, and practical judgment rather than tools or coding.

Professor Appleton is the Faculty Director of the American Bar Association’s TechCred Program for arbitrators and neutrals. This session will emphasize how ADR professionals can maintain control over technology while safeguarding legitimacy and enforceability.

Barry Appleton, Distinguished Adjunct Professor of Law; Co-Director and Senior Fellow, Center for International Law
