Join Professor Justin Murray for a conversation with documentarian, author, and storyteller Marc Asnin about his latest project, Final Words. Through a microphone in a death chamber, Final Words captures the last messages of love, pain, regret, forgiveness, and innocence of 578 prisoners who were executed in Texas. Asnin’s project brings to the forefront the voices of those who have been regularly dehumanized and silenced by the U.S. death penalty and prison systems, shedding light on the cyclical history of oppression and challenging societal perceptions of incarcerated people.

This event is co-sponsored by the Criminal Justice Institute.
