Companies that originate loans – from car loans to mortgages to student loans – often don’t hold onto them for long. Using asset-backed finance (ABF), they bundle and sell the rights to future loan payments to investors, in exchange for upfront cash. Join us for a talk between Shawn Kodes ’07 – a Partner and Co-Chair of the ABF practice at Paul Hastings LLP – and Institute Director and Professor Howard S. Meyers as they discuss what lawyers do in an ABF practice (a booming area poised for further growth) and the opportunities and challenges shaping the ABF landscape today.
The Ronald H. Filler Institute for Financial Services Law is housed within the Center for Business and Financial Law.
