Building on the first discussion in the series, which focused on New York City’s housing stock, we will take a deeper look at rent: Who pays it? How is it set? Where does it go? How does it fit into broader financial structures of property taxes and debt? How much control does city government have over rents in various types of housing? How do rent regulations affect both existing tenants and those searching for an apartment? What’s the relationship between housing and rent?
This event is co-hosted by New York Law School’s Center for New York City and State Law and Center for Real Estate Studies, as well as Citizens Housing and Planning Council.
