Come learn more about how to be a claimant advocate at our upcoming trainings!
The Unemployment Action Center is a student-run advocacy nonprofit with chapters across New York City law schools.
Advocates represent unemployed workers—who have been denied unemployment benefits—before an administrative law judge (ALJ) in virtual hearings.
Student advocates have the opportunity to interview and advise claimants, conduct direct and cross-examinations of witnesses, and deliver closing statements to an ALJ.
