In January 2025, President Trump began making a series of escalating statements and later authorized military actions against Venezuela, culminating in the January 3, 2026, capture of its president, Nicolás Maduro. President Trump has long expressed interest in a U.S. takeover of Greenland with escalating tone and intensity, and he is openly discussing military action in Iran. Join us for a conversation that examines these events in the context of the constitutional law and international law questions they raise.

Professors Doni Gewirtzman (Constitutional Law), Ruti G. Teitel (Center for International Law), and Barry Appleton (Center for International Law) will lead the discussion.

This event is co-sponsored by the Center for International Law.
