James Tricarico Jr. Institute for the Business of Law and In-House Counsel
The Tricarico Institute provides best-in-class business, legal, and technology skills training to current and aspiring in-house counsel.
Made possible by a substantial gift from distinguished alumnus James Tricarico Jr. ’77, the Institute prepares law students and practitioners for the future of in-house counsel roles. It also seeks to advance greater racial diversity in these roles.
The Institute was launched in February 2021. Its forthcoming initiatives include a “Mini M.B.A.” intensive for practicing lawyers and students that includes substantive business topics; a Tech Incubator and Startups Clinic; a Tricarico Scholars program; a specialized curricular pathway, beginning with a new gateway course (Legaltech, Legal Operations, and the Future of Practice); and programming to increase racial diversity in the field by engaging corporate counsel professionals from underrepresented groups as student mentors and thought leaders.
Adjunct Professor and Senior Fellow Michael Pastor is the Institute's Director.
