Wilf Impact Center Practicum
The Wilf Impact Center Practicum is a one-credit, pass/fail, one-semester course open exclusively to students who are affiliates of the Wilf Impact Center for Public Interest Law. The Practicum will facilitate a one-semester connection between a Center student and a professor who will work with and supervise the student on a public interest project that has a tangible, measurable impact. This could include, for example, assisting the professor on a case or cases, developing know-your-rights workshops, planning an event (e.g., a symposium) or a series of events (for the law school community or an impacted population), or working together on a substantive legal article or book for publication. Once a student registers for the Practicum, Professors Marsico and Pownall will contact them to help develop an appropriate project, identify a faculty supervisor, and write a proposal. After that, the student will work with their supervisor to complete the project.
The Practicum does not have a formal meeting time; meetings will be arranged between the student's supervisor and the student. The Practicum satisfies the Impact Center's capstone requirement.
